Flute Lessons.
Imagine how quickly you could improve your playing with a teacher? Based on more than 20 years of teaching and performing experience, my teaching method is a unique combination of the famous French flute method and my own creative ideas. I help students develop their performance skills to the highest potential. Sound and technique are always at the service of musical expression. In the beginning stage of learning the flute I emphasize good posture, correct breathing , air support and flexible embouchure. My students won top chair band auditions, as well as they were accepted to Honor and Colorado All-State bands.
Beginner Flutist.
I keep my lessons fast pacing ,engaging and fun. I have a wide variety of method books and repertoire to suit your interests. A typical lesson will include working fundamentals: breathing, sound production, posture as well reading music notation, learning basics of music theory. We also will be playing a lot of duets, as well as solo flute with piano accompaniment ( I am a pianist too after all)
Intermediate Flutist.
If you've been playing for a few years and ready to explore the elements of flute playing more closely, I will help you with some areas of your playing that need improvement. Maybe it's working on sound: to open it and make mere resonant and beautiful; or polishing your vibrato, or perhaps improving your technique, or coach you to help with the band literature.
I also will help you to prepare for band audition or competition.
A typical lesson will include tone and finger exercises, scales, etudes, work on solo pieces, duets, help with any band or orchestra literature.
Advanced Flutist.
If you are auditioning for college, festival or competition, I will be happy to meet your neends.
A typical lesson will include :
I am happy to facilitate your specific goals. If you always wanted to learn how to play flute, or maybe you played flute many years ago and want to re-start lessons, or, perhaps you are currently playing and need improvement in specific areas, I will meet your needs and come up with unique plan just for you.
